I just tried playing dvds on my dvd drive and nothing's happening. Real
Player is telling me that I don't have a dvd drive and when I try playing
dvds via InterActual I'm getting the message:
'Error PL4013: Playback failed due to a problem with the video subsystem.
You may be using an unsupported display mode or your system may not have a
working decoder installed. Please ensure that your DVD decoder is functioning
properly by launching it from Start | Programs.'
I've tried playing cds and there are no problems. This has only just started
happening. Any ideas anyone?

All other sounds work. System sounds are ok, music cd's play fine, but not dvd movies. I use windows media player, Power DVD, Interactual player, and none of these will play the sound. Also, make sure the region of the DVD you are trying to play matches the region setting of your DVD player. In simpler words, make sure you're not trying to play a DVD from Australia if you bought your laptop in North America. Finally, it could be your DVD decoder died or is failing, in which case you can call Dell and open a case with them.
